On this day, 52 years ago, one of the most important academic institutions in the history of our country, the University of Pristina, started working. It was founded thanks to the colossal work of academic personalities, educated outside Kosovo, such as the youngest doctor of science in the former Yugoslavia of that time, Prof.Dr. Dervish Rozhaja, as well as academics and other professors, such as: academician Ali Hadri, Prof.Dr. Mark Krasniqi and many eminent names of knowledge, who founded this institution and wrote a part of the history of Kosovo.
The opening of the University of Pristina awakened the national feeling in Kosovo and was the greatest achievement of the people of Kosovo until the declaration of Independence. The University of Pristina later established the basis for the establishment of the Academy of Arts and Sciences of Kosovo, which influenced the awareness of the Albanian people and the creation of a culture of equality with other peoples of the world.
Kosovo has benefited a lot from the establishment of the university, which it enjoys to this day, thanks to this blessed institution. Therefore, the founding day of the University of Pristina marks one of the brightest days in the history of the Republic of Kosovo.
