University Haxhi Zeka successfully finalises the second International Winter University UNIWIN 2025

A Journey of Learning, Collaboration, and Cultural Exchange

In the presence of many esteemed guests, including the Minister of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation, Arbërie Nagavci, and the Vice Minister of MESTI, Taulant Kelmendi, the UNIWIN 2025 program concluded on a high note. The event was also attended by members of the UHZ Steering Council, academic staff, the Student Parliament, and administrative staff, marking a significant moment for all involved.

The second edition of the International Winter University, UNIWIN 2025, was successfully concluded after two weeks of intensive lectures, workshops, and engaging activities. The event, held from January 20th to February 2nd, 2025, brought together nearly seventy students from the Netherlands, Poland, and Kosovo, including students from the University Haxhi Zeka (UHZ) and other institutions across Kosovo.

This year’s UNIWIN offered four specialized courses focused on tourism, hospitality, and the environment, providing students with valuable insights and hands-on experience. The courses were:

  • Cloud-Based Hotel Program “Elektraweb”
  • Tourism and Cultural Traditions in Bulgaria and Kosovo
  • Multi-Criteria Decision Making and Multidimensional Comparative Analysis to Assess Tourism Potentials in Europe
  • Green Transition and Sustainability

These courses were delivered by renowned professors from both international and local institutions: Ahm Shamsuzzoha, Esat Sackes, Gjore Nakov, and Kesra Nermend, alongside esteemed UHZ professors Naser Bajraktari, Behrije Ramaj Desku, Elvis Elezaj, and Alberta Tahiri.

Adding even more value to the program were two distinguished guest speakers:

  • Rienk van Marle, a Lecturer in Research Methodology from Saxion University of Applied Sciences’ Hospitality Business School, delivered a thought-provoking lecture on “How to Optimize Rigor in Research in the Context of Problem Solving.”
  • Ms. Mimika Dobroshi, Coordinator of the Erasmus+ Office in Kosovo, shared insights into the benefits and exciting opportunities that the Erasmus+ program offers to Kosovo’s students and academic institutions.

UNIWIN 2025 proved to be an exceptional platform for students to expand their knowledge, gain new perspectives, and engage in meaningful cultural exchange. It fostered the development of new networks, encouraged collaboration across borders, and created an environment for students to explore fresh opportunities and challenges in the fields of tourism, hospitality, and sustainability.

The success of UNIWIN 2025 underscores the importance of such programs in shaping the next generation of global leaders, who are prepared to navigate an increasingly interconnected world.

Stay tuned for the upcoming International Summer University, UNISUM 2025!
