Jerry Fianyo (PhD) is a full-time Lecturer in English at Université Côte d’Azur (France), where he teaches English for Specific Purposes (ESP), including Professional English, Business English, Scientific English, and Medical English. He also serves as a part-time lecturer at the College of Nursing (Institut de Formation en Soins Infirmiers) in Nice, where he teaches English for Healthcare Professionals.
Jerry is an experienced language teacher with over a decade of international teaching experience. His research and professional interests lie at the intersection of language didactics, second language acquisition, intercultural communicative competence, curriculum design, project-based learning, and Internationalization at Home.
Jerry has participated in numerous international teaching assignments, research collaborations, conferences, and Erasmus+ mobility programmes across Europe. He is currently leading the Lingua Lab Project, an intercontinental Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) initiative that brings together students from European and African universities to promote inclusive internationalisation through virtual exchange.
Passionate about educational innovation, Jerry is committed to designing engaging, learner-centred, and technology-enhanced learning environments that prepare students to communicate and collaborate effectively in multilingual and multicultural contexts.
