International Learning: Haxhi Zeka University Hosts Students from the Netherlands

Haxhi Zeka University had the pleasure of welcoming students: Sandrine Susanne Margot Wiebes, Marith Vrugteman Eleanore Juresic, Sara Zogaj, Joy Ilona Eppink, Jade Laarhuis, Azra Aksoy, Professor Lieke Bührmann, and Gerry Stegeman from Saxion University of Applied Sciences, the Netherlands, as part of the ongoing project “Combating Money Laundering: Best Practices in Prevention and Repression, and the Role of Artificial Intelligence.” During their one-week visit, the participants will attend lectures and engage in joint academic activities alongside students from Haxhi Zeka University.

The visiting students were greeted by the Rector of Haxhi Zeka University, who warmly welcomed them and emphasized the importance of international cooperation in higher education. During the meeting, the Rector expressed his appreciation for the successful collaboration between the two institutions and his desire to see similar projects continue and expand in the future.

As part of the academic program, Prof. Dr. Ylber Januzaj from Haxhi Zeka University will deliver a series of lectures for the participating students, focusing on topics related to money laundering prevention, and the growing role of artificial intelligence in addressing financial crime.

The project promotes the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and best practices among students and academic staff, while strengthening international partnerships and fostering intercultural understanding.

The next phase of the project will continue with a study visit eight students of Haxhi Zeka University to the Netherlands, scheduled to take place from 8 to 12 June 2026, where they will participate in academic and professional activities organized by Saxion University of Applied Sciences.
