Rector's Speech
Dear students, colleagues, and visitors,
The “Haxhi Zeka” University is built on the conviction that higher education represents not only a process of professional formation, but a social and civic mission with profound responsibility toward the country’s development. In this spirit, our university carries out its activities based on three fundamental missions: quality teaching and learning, scientific research and innovation, and active service to society and sustainable development.
The first mission, teaching and learning, places the student at the center, heart, and soul as an active subject of knowledge. Our goal is to offer contemporary, interdisciplinary study programs aligned with the real needs of the labor market, by developing professional competencies, practical skills, and critical thinking. The University aims to prepare professionals who are capable not only of integrating into the labor market, but also of transforming it through knowledge, creativity, and civic responsibility.
The second mission, scientific research and innovation, constitutes the pillar upon which the academic identity of a modern university is built. The “Haxhi Zeka” University is oriented toward the production of new knowledge, applied research, and national and international scientific cooperation. Our research seeks not to remain confined within the academic sphere, but to be transformed into social, economic, and institutional value, contributing to public policies, regional development, and entrepreneurial innovation.
The third mission, service to society, reflects the role of the university as an active actor in social and economic development. Our University sees itself as a strategic partner of public institutions, the private sector, civil society, and the wider community. Through this engagement, UHZ aims to build sustainable bridges of cooperation and to contribute directly to improving quality of life and promoting the country’s sustainable development.
Në këtë kontekst, Universiteti “Haxhi Zeka” po ndërton identitetin e tij si universitet ndërmarrës 4.0, i cili integron dijen akademike me inovacionin, teknologjinë, sipërmarrjen dhe përgjegjësinë shoqërore. Qasja jonë mbështetet në modelin e helisit të katërfishtë, ku universiteti bashkëvepron në mënyrë të strukturuar me industrinë, institucionet publike dhe shoqërinë, duke krijuar ekosisteme të dijes dhe zhvillimit.
The challenges ahead of us are numerous, but our vision is clear: to transform the “Haxhi Zeka” University into a contemporary, competitive, and respected institution that produces knowledge, shapes the leaders of tomorrow, and actively contributes to the development of Kosovo. This vision is not individual, but shared, and it can only be realized through dedication, cooperation, and trust in academic values.

MISSION
"Haxhi Zeka" University, as an academic institution, transfers knowledge in order to realize the potential of students towards the dynamic labor market, dedicated to scientific research, artistic activity and internationalization, to serve the economic development of the Peja region and the country in general.
