World Tourism Day, celebrated on 27 September, brings us an opportunity to reflect on the importance of travel in the global economy, culture and environment. Tourism is more than just travel – it is a way to discover the natural and cultural wealth of each country and to care for our planet. It is important to promote sustainable tourism, taking care of the environment and respecting the culture and heritage of each destination we visit.
World Tourism Day was first celebrated in Kosovo in 2011 by Alternative Tourism Association. On this occasion, at the premises of the Faculty of Tourism, Hospitality and Environmental Management (FMTHM) to Haxhi Zeka University in Peja (UHZ), various activities were organized by staff and students.

The meeting was attended by the deans of the faculties, along with the academic, administrative staff and students of Haxhi Zeka University, as well as the Directorate of Economic Development from the Municipality of Peja and the Manager of Onix SPA from Banja e Peja.

Always, exploring opportunities to travel to unknown destinations contributes to the development of tourist communities. On this World Tourism Day, let us remember that travel is more than a passion – it is a way to get to know the world and positively influence it. To protect and promote this passion, let us travel responsibly and help preserve the culture and environment that surrounds us.
