Today, April 14, 2023, Haxhi Zeka University in Peja (UHZ) was accredited for the next 5 years. State Quality Council (KHC), following the proposal of the group of international experts, highly appreciated the fulfillment of the criteria and standards set by Kosovo Accreditation Agency (AKA). Thus, the KHC decided to grant 5-year institutional accreditation to Haxhi Zeka University. This is the highest rating that can be offered to higher education institutions in the country. 

This significant day for UHZ brings more encouragement, motivation and optimism for the progress and success of the processes in our institution. The support of all parties was essential for achieving these goals. This includes: academic, administrative and student staff. Also, various national and international partners.

The staff of Haxhi Zeka University has worked with dedication and courage during these two years, facing difficulties with confidence. This work was challenging, but essential to meet the conditions and standards of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency, guaranteeing legality and quality. This process is vital for the future of the institution, the economy and society. Especially, for the students who have trusted Haxhi Zeka University with the savings and sacrifices of their parents. 

Rector's speech on the 5-year accreditation of UHZ

Rector, prof. dr. Armand Krasniqi, thanked everyone for their contribution and, among other things, in his preface emphasized:

“There are many stories that can be told regarding the situation that has accompanied our institution until this moment. There are many shocking facts and figures that are a more than convincing reflection of the necessity of this radical reform. This reform that we have started together and will continue. We remain steadfast in our efforts to fulfill our vision and mission. Our goal is to contribute to the development of this social community. This is so that the diploma of “Haxhi Zeka” University today and in the future can make you proud at work and in life.”.

We must never forget that Education is the transmission of civilization.. And where better and more securely is this accomplished than in universities?

Haxhi Zeka University will be even more committed to increasing quality. This is just one of the positive steps towards achieving its strategic objectives.
