Universiteti “Haxhi Zeka” në Pejë (UHZ) ka nënshkruar sot një marrëveshje bashkëpunimi me Universitetin e Kobanit, me seli në Kobani, Aleppo, Siri.
The agreement was signed by the Rector of UHZ, Prof. Dr. Armand Krasniqi, while the University of Kobani was represented by its Co-Chairs, Sharfan Ismail Muslim and Khazna Mohammad Ibrahim.
The conclusion of this agreement was facilitated by Prof. Dr. hab. inż. Kesra Nermend, whose contribution is particularly valued in the realization of this international partnership.
It is worth noting that this marks the first agreement UHZ has concluded with a Kurdish university, representing a significant step in the expansion of the institution's international network toward the Middle East region.
Content of the Agreement
According to the signed document, both universities commit to cooperation in the fields of scientific research and education, founded on the principle of equal treatment between the parties. The main areas of cooperation include:
- the professional development of academic staff, particularly in teaching and research skills;
- the education of students and doctoral candidates;
- the exchange of information and best practices concerning curricula;
- the joint preparation and implementation of research projects;
- the exchange of teaching materials and scientific publications;
- joint applications for funding to support the cooperation;
- the development of double-degree and joint-degree programmes.
The agreement is valid for an initial term of five years, with automatic renewal for a further five years, unless either party notifies its refusal within six months prior to expiry.
For the coordination of the agreement's implementation, UHZ has appointed Ms. Arberora Haxhija, while the University of Kobani has appointed Dr. Ashraf Mahmoud.
