Erasmus+ Office in Kosovo organizes information session at “Haxhi Zeka” University in Peja

Peja, November 13, 2025 – The Erasmus+ Office in Kosovo, in cooperation with the University of Peja "Haxhi Zeka", held an information session today on application opportunities for international funds and programs offered by Erasmus+. The activity took place at the Faculty of Business, Hall A1, starting at 11:00.

This session was organized in the wake of the official opening of the Erasmus+ Call for Applications for 2026, which was published on 12 November 2025 by the European Commission. The new call offers higher education institutions, youth organizations and vocational training institutions in Kosovo new opportunities for international cooperation, mobility and capacity development.

At the opening of the meeting, Prof. Edmond Beqiri, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Quality Assurance, welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of the active involvement of students and academic staff in international cooperation programs, as a valuable opportunity for professional development and exchange of experiences with European partner universities.

Afterwards, the participants received a brief overview of the international dimension of the Erasmus+ program, learning about the ways in which higher education institutions in Kosovo connect and collaborate through this program. The discussion was interactive, with the participants engaging in sharing their knowledge and expectations of the program.

The information session continued with the presentation of the main actions of the Erasmus+ program, by Ms. Blerinë Zjaça, Project Manager at the Erasmus+ Office in Kosovo. This part addressed:

  • International Credit Mobility
  • Degree Mobility (Erasmus Mundus Action)
  • Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE)
  • Capacity Building in VET (CBVET)
  • Jean Monnet Actions
  • Virtual Exchanges
  • ECHE and EUA

Participants had the opportunity to discuss and share experiences from previous projects, as well as explore ways to strengthen international mobility and cooperation in the future.

At the end of the session, a presentation was made on the EPALE (European Platform for Adult Learning in Europe) platform – a European platform dedicated to adult learning and continuing professional development. The presentation highlighted the importance of universities’ involvement in networks and initiatives that support lifelong learning.

The event concluded with reflections and concrete ideas for strengthening the participation of the University of Peja "Haxhi Zeka" in Erasmus+ programs and international collaborative projects in the future.
