The University of Peja “Haxhi Zeka” is increasingly consolidating its position as one of the strongest institutions of higher education in the country. According to the latest results of the “Kosovo National H-index” for the fourth quarter of 2025, UHZ ranks second among public universities in Kosovo, marking a significant increase in its research and academic performance.
It should be noted that this achievement has been achieved despite obvious challenges, as UHZ operates with limited research capacities and a small number of academic staff. However, thanks to the extraordinary dedication of the staff, hard work and a high culture of academic responsibility, UHZ has managed to generate tangible and powerful results in the field of scientific research. This clearly proves that quality, vision and commitment can overcome any limitation, transforming our university into an institution that not only meets, but often exceeds expectations – even in the most modest conditions.
This positioning is a direct indicator of the growth of the university's scientific capacities and the strength of its research platform. "Haxhi Zeka" University has significantly increased the quality and number of publications in Scopus and Web of Science, its presence in international databases, as well as the impact of academic staff research.
The second national ranking positions UHZ as a true academic force and as an institution that not only follows international standards, but is rapidly rising to levels of excellence. This result is clear evidence of the university's commitment to advancing scientific research, cultivating a culture of innovation, and providing a modern, inclusive, and future-oriented learning environment.
