UHZ and the Ministry of Regional Development Strengthen Partnership for Innovation and Sustainable Regional Development

The delegation of “Haxhi Zeka” University, headed by Prof. Dr. Armand Krasniqi, Rector, together with Dr. Sc. Prof. Assoc. Vjosa Hajdari, Vice-Rector for Budget and Infrastructure, and Luan Lulaj, advisor, held a working meeting today at the Ministry of Regional Development. The delegation was welcomed by Ms. Refike Sülçevsi, Acting Secretary General of this ministry, Mr. Ylber Qitaku, Director of the Planning Department, and Ms. Jeta Nushi, head of the relevant Division.

This meeting took place within the framework of the implementation of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed in 2023, marking an important step towards deeper inter-institutional coordination. Both delegations focused on strategic planning and harmonization of joint activities for the future, with particular emphasis on cooperation opportunities following the establishment of the University Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation – UNI NOVA.

UHZ representatives presented the significant progress made by the university in creating a new institutional architecture dedicated to innovation, entrepreneurship and start-up development, including the operationalization of business incubators within UNI NOVA. The parties also discussed priority areas of cooperation and initiatives planned to be undertaken during 2026, with the aim of building projects with real impact in the region.

An important agreement reached during the meeting was the appointment of permanent coordinators from both institutions, who will have the responsibility to lead and synchronize all future processes, guaranteeing continuity and coherence in cooperation.

Following the discussions, UHZ confirmed its full readiness, through the capacities of the Institute for Science and Arts, to undertake the drafting of analytical reports and specialized studies for the needs of the MDR. These analytical products will serve to identify the development needs of the ministry and to support targeted policies for regional development.

This meeting reflects a shared will to advance cooperation, creating concrete and sustainable platforms for innovation, economic development, and the inclusion of the academic community in the country's strategic processes.
