Dedicated to Edvard Kushnin, friend of the students of "Haxhi Zeka" University
There are life stories that are not written about material success, but about human greatness. There are people who are not measured by what they have built for themselves, but by what they have given to others. One of these people is undoubtedly Edvard Kushnini - Edi, from Shpenadia in the Municipality of Prizren.
Like most young Albanians of the 1990s, he faced violence, insecurity and poverty early on. Driven by the need to support his family and maintain his dignity, he took the path of exile, a difficult path, but one familiar to tens of thousands of Albanians of that time. Today, he lives and works with his family in Zadar, Croatia, building an honest life, a successful business and a respected name in the community.
His life path, at first glance, may not differ much from that of our other compatriots in exile. But what makes Edvard Kushnin special is something that cannot be bought, imitated, or imposed: a deep sense of belonging, a sincere love for one's people, and an inexhaustible dedication to one's fellow countrymen.
On behalf of the “Haxhi Zeka” University, we feel a moral and institutional obligation to express our respect, gratitude and special thanks. Within the framework of agreements and academic cooperation with the University of Zadar, the students of the Choir of the Faculty of Arts of the UHZ, who have been participating in international cultural events in this city for years, have found in Edi and his wife, Nora, not only hospitality, but also a rare, almost parental care.
He has known how to welcome dozens of students and professors, to honor and support them without any personal interest, except for the sense of national pride and the manly one that characterizes him. His home has always been open, his words warm and his heart big. This is a silent but profound humanism; a philanthropy that does not require applause, but springs naturally from the soul.
There is no doubt that our nation is blessed with such people in every corner of the world. However, Edvard Kushnini is special. He is a generous person, a philanthropist, a successful businessman, and a citizen of high moral integrity. Above all, he is a living example that true success is not just about climbing high, but about never forgetting the hand you have to extend to others.
"Haxhi Zeka" University expresses its deepest gratitude to Edvard Kushnin and his family, considering this respect not only as thanks for what he has done, but as an appreciation for what he represents: the man who remained a man, even far from his homeland.
