The Career Office of “Haxhi Zeka” University, within the framework of its ongoing activities and with a special focus on alumni of all academic units, organized an inspiring ceremonial meeting, which proved once again that the connection between the university and its former students is not just a memory, but a vibrant and sustainable partnership over time. This event brought together a considerable number of former students, who today hold important positions in state and private institutions across the country, directly reflecting the impact of “Haxhi Zeka” University on the professional and social formation of generations.
The meeting was opened by Mr. Abedin Selimaj, Director of the Career Office at UHZ, who warmly greeted the attendees and emphasized the irreplaceable role that alumni have in the development and institutional consolidation of the university. In his speech, Director Selimaj presented the work of the Career Office and the activities carried out during this period, placing special emphasis on the fact that the alumni component is vital for UHZ, not only as a bridge of communication with the labor market, but also as a source of experience, advice and long-term cooperation.
Also present at this ceremonial meeting was Prof. Dr. Armand Krasniqi, Rector of “Haxhi Zeka” University, who emphasized that meetings with former students not only evoke emotions and bring back precious memories, but also serve as a strong basis for motivation for further institutional development. Rector Krasniqi specifically emphasized that alumni and UHZ are the face and soul of the university, eternally connected, because the common journey does not end with receiving a diploma. He emphasized that the management of the university and the faculties is constantly engaged in improving academic activity, with the aim that the diplomas issued by this institution, even those obtained years ago, gain more weight, integrity and value in professional and social life every day.
During his speech, the Rector acquainted the alumni with the achievements of the “Haxhi Zeka” University and its academic units, especially in the field of accredited programs at all three levels of study, the improvement of teaching and learning, the development of an integrated interuniversity curriculum, the profiling of academic staff, as well as the strengthening of the scientific-research component through the Institute for Science and Arts. He also highlighted the role and importance of the Dukagjini Regional Economic Forum (FERD) within the framework of the third mission of the university, the establishment of UNI-NOVA, international cooperation, the project for the construction of the Business Incubator as a national center, as well as the rapid start of work of the new Faculty of Contemporary Technologies. All of these, according to Rector Krasniqi, are essential components for strengthening UHZ in the University 4.0 model, in the logic of the quadruple helix, which is being built every day with the student at the center, in the soul and in the heart.
In this special atmosphere, alumni Granit Cena, now a renowned lawyer, also addressed the gathering with welcoming words, sharing his professional experience and ongoing connection with the university where he had laid the foundations of his academic journey. The entire event was accompanied by emotions, memories and reflections, but above all with a mutual promise for even more frequent meetings and for an increasingly closer cooperation between the alumni and “Haxhi Zeka” University, as an academic family that grows, strengthens and moves forward together.together.
